LA Serve specialise in search engine optimisation and website accessibility Our policy is to provide search engine optimisation so that search engine spiders can easily reap and classify the text in your website. All our sites are professionally designed, optimised and coded but this does not include our copywriting and search engine promotion service (which you can utilise separately). Even with optimisation, we cannot guarantee a search engine ranking. However, it is the solid foundation on which to build any search engine promotional campaign - and if your site is looked at and found via various directories and links from other sites, then you will eventually be tracked by the spiders and ranked in the search engines. We have an excellent track record of standard sites being found on search engines but, just like buying shares, performance in the past is not necessarily going to be reflected in the future! We do offer the full service to promote your site on search engines which keeps up-to-date with search engine changes and this is charged separately. Website Accessibilty: we don't ignore people with disabilities As from July 2004, any orders taken for LA Serve websites comply with the UK's Disability Discrimination Act 1995 to "ensure fair and equal access for disabled people". As from October 2004, this regulation has applied to websites. The DTI's Fact Sheet on "Technology and the Law" says, "The design of a website can dramatically alter how easy it is for the disabled to use it. Everything from the colour, size and contrast of text to the use of certain software plug-ins affects whether it is accessible to the disabled." This will be the case in websites which use Flash or are heavily database driven. Cross Browser and Cross Platform We cannot possibly guarantee that everyone will see your site as you do: for example, your monitor will show red at a different brightness to someone else. Your display settings will be different to others and we can't do anything about that. We can, however, guarantee that your website will work perfectly with anyone using a PC with Internet Explorer 5 (and above). The site will also be usable in Netscape 7 (and above) and we also test sites on a Mac with OSX. Compatibility is therefore guaranteed across the bulk of the internet using population. |
