What is a nameserver?
A nameserver is a computer that is used to translate domain names into numeric addresses (IP Address) and vice versa.

What is a primary nameserver?
The designation of "primary" means that this nameserver will be used first and will be relied upon before any of the other name servers.

What is a secondary nameserver?
A secondary nameserver will be used in addition to and as a backup for the primary name server.

What are additional servers?
Additional nameservers are any name servers, aside from the primary and secondary nameservers, that will be available to connect a particular domain name to its corresponding IP address (number).

When I transfer a domain name to the nameservers stay the same?
When a domain name registrant is changed the nameservers will remain the same. However, if the domain name is transferred your nameservers will change.

What is a DNS?
A DNS or Domain Name Service is a global network of servers that translates host names into a numerical IP address.

What is an A-record?
An A-Record or Address Record is the DNS entry that maps each domain name to an IP Address. The A-record specifies the IP address the user will be sent for each domain name.

What are MX records?
The MX or Mail eXchanger Records specify what servers on the Internet are responsible for handling e-mail sent to your domain. MX records only point to a host, never an IP.
